My friend Mary is a veterinarian. My friend Guinness is, well, he’s a dog – a German Shepherd, with a mix of a few other breeds thrown in. We had a fun shoot last week.
Mary has just started a new business, which you should check out at Gentle Goodbye.
Normally, it’s a real challenge to photograph pets. Guinness was amazingly well behaved. He did every pose we asked of him and hammed it up with a wide variety of facial expressions. He particularly enjoyed the dog treats and strange whistles that our fabulous makeup artist, Maria Dominici, offered. Incidentally, Maria just provided makeup for Mary; Guinness chose an all-natural look.
Mary is an extraordinary person and I know she will do well in her new endeavor. She’s filling a big need with sensitivity and compassion.
Working both in the studio and on location, photographer Blake Robinson serves the Connecticut communities of Darien, New Canaan, Stamford, Norwalk, Westport and Greenwich.

Great portraits, Blake–and two wonderful subjects, one I knew and one I didn’t.
thanks, David. they were both great fun to work with, with lots of personality!
Wonderful images, Blake. The expressions you caught on the faces of Mary and of Guinness are priceless.
