Erin in Charleston

Last week, I had the pleasure of photographing my new friend, Erin, out on the streets of Charleston, South Carolina. I was using my new mirrorless camera, the Nikon Z6.

We had great fun walking around the older part of the city, South of Broad as the locals say. Erin is a naturally happy young woman and it didn’t take much encouragement to get a big smile out of her.

We shot late in the day, with the sun coming in and out. In the image above, we are in the garden of one of the historic old homes and just caught a bright bit of light – in the “golden hour” of warm light just before sunset.

This image was taken on the Battery at the bottom of the peninsula. Behind Erin but not visible here is Fort Sumter, the site of two important Civil War battles.

I was thrilled with the new camera – it’s light, small and focuses very fast. The Z6 was perfect for this shoot as we moved around quickly capturing images at various places.

This antique (early 1900’s?) Ford is usually on the street in a neighborhood just off the Battery. A great backdrop for our image, but Erin was very careful not to touch the car!

Thanks, Erin, for a great shoot!
