Spring arrives this Friday – Yippee! But 10 days ago we were thrilled to be leaving the frigid cold and deep snows of Connecticut for a week on the island of Nevis in the West Indies.
Please, please click on any image to see it in a larger and clearer size! Nevis is a lovely island, with gentle and friendly locals – many of whom said, “Welcome to our paradise!” This wasn’t just being nice to the tourists – you could tell they genuinely meant it.
The weather was just about perfect – low 80’s in the daytime and about 70 at night. We had a bit of rain each day, which bothered us not a bit.

The kids on this beach, like kids on all beaches all over the world, were happy to play and swim all day long. What do you imagine these girls are talking about?
It was fun to see the boats that arrived at this pier or anchored offshore – ferries, ski-boats and fancy yachts. But for a photograph, I liked seeing the pier empty – and ready for the next boat.
A week was just right – and we were ready to come home and wait for Spring in Connecticut, which is surely coming soon – we hope!
