Last week, I had a fashion shoot with Emily, an experienced model and a grad student in early childhood education. My friend Joanna Kirchon did the hair styling and makeup for our shoot.
There are big folders of fashion images around my studio. These are helpful as pose or lighting ideas – inspirations for my shoots. Emily and I both liked the image below, of the actress Anne Hathaway, which appeared as an ad for The Gap. And so we used it as a starting point to set up our shot. We wanted to make our own unique image – not just copy someone else’s work. There are many differences – for example, I felt a lighter background would work better for our image.
How do you like each of these photographs?
Working both in the studio and on location, photographer Blake Robinson serves the Connecticut communities of Darien, New Canaan, Stamford, Norwalk, Westport and Greenwich.

This is awesome! is it possible that Emily actually looks like Ann? or do I just think so bc their poses are the same? the shape of their faces and lips are very similar no? love it!
Thanks, Hassanah, this was a fun shoot. they are both lovely!
