I’m continuing my 10 week shooting project with Christina. If you missed my first post about the photography course I’m taking, please see last’s week’s blog post.
Christina is an accomplished singer in several genres. We decided to create some images in the studio that would imitate club or concert lighting. In the image above, I used three lights – one with a blue gel aimed towards the background, the second a bright light just off the frame to the right to highlight her hair, and the third a beauty dish to the right at about 45 degrees to the camera line.
Here’s one using a red gel. Christina sings with a wonderful country group and I was listening to a playlist of classic country hits she’d made on Spotify while editing these pictures.
I found the vintage-style microphone on Amazon. It’s a replica of “the Elvis mike” – what could be better?!
Stay tuned for more pictures of Christina over the coming weeks.
Working both in the studio and on location, photographer Blake Robinson serves the Connecticut communities of Darien, New Canaan, Stamford, Norwalk, Westport and Greenwich.
